How big is the Volcanic Rock pendant, and should I hang more than one?
It measures 10 cm (3.9″) across and 17 cm (6.7″) tall, so it is a small pendant. It is designed for dining areas, kitchens and contemporary living spaces. Over a kitchen island or long dining table, a row of two or three gives more even coverage than a single pendant. Email us your table length if you'd like help.
Is the body made of real volcanic rock?
The pendant is made of black travertine and metal. The stone body has a rugged, volcanic-rock texture, contrasted with a sleek, polished top. Because the body is natural stone, its texture and tone vary slightly from piece to piece, so your pendant may look a little different from our photos.
How long is the hanging wire?
It comes with a 150 cm (59″) wire, which can be extended as needed. Measure from your ceiling to where you want the bottom of the pendant, then add the 6.7″ fixture height to check the wire is long enough. If you need extra length, let us know before we ship.
How do I clean the textured stone surface?
Turn the light off and let it cool first. Dust the stone with a soft, dry cloth, and keep water, sprays and cleaning products away from it. A soft, dry brush reaches into the textured surface better than a cloth. Wipe the polished top with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid abrasive or chemical cleaners that could dull the finish.
What light source does it use, and can it be used in a bathroom?
It uses an LED light source, runs on AC 110–240V and mounts to the ceiling. It is rated for indoor use, and no moisture rating is listed, so we don't recommend bathrooms or other damp areas. Dimming is not specified, so email us before ordering if you plan to use a dimmer.
