Can I dim this wabi-sabi stone wall lamp?
No. It is controlled by a push-button switch and is not dimmable, so we don't recommend connecting it to a dimmer. It takes an LED or Edison bulb and runs on AC 110–240V. For a softer evening mood, choose a lower-output warm bulb; the stone shade already diffuses the light gently.
Is the shade made of real stone?
Yes. The lamp is made of yellow travertine and wood. The semi-spherical shade has a raw, earthy finish with subtle imperfections, which follow the wabi-sabi idea of beauty in imperfection. Because it is natural stone, the texture and tone vary from piece to piece, so your shade will look slightly different from our photos.
How large is it, and should I order the set of 2?
The shade measures 15 cm (5.9″) across and 18 cm (7.1″) tall, hanging from a black metal arm on a round wooden wall mount. The set of 2 gives you a matching pair for either side of a bed, mirror or doorway. A single lamp works as a quiet accent in a reading corner or hallway.
How do I clean the textured stone shade?
Turn the light off and let it cool first. Dust the stone with a soft, dry cloth, and keep water, sprays and cleaning products away from it. A soft brush helps lift dust from the textured surface. Wipe the wood mount and metal arm with a dry, soft cloth as well. Avoid acidic, abrasive or chemical cleaners.
Is it hardwired, and how is it switched on?
It is a hardwired wall lamp, so it connects to the wiring in your wall rather than plugging in, and we recommend a licensed electrician for installation. You turn it on and off with the push-button switch. It is rated for indoor use only, and it suits minimalist, rustic and Japanese-style rooms.
